Simply C wins Refrigeration Product of the Year

Arctic Circle has accomplished the title forRefrigeration Product of the Year’ at this years ACR News awards for its Compact, Convenient and Competitive remote condensing unit ‘Simply C™’, following its success at the awards in 2005 for the Genesis™ compressor.

End users are under increasing pressure to utilise their shop floor and back shop space, particularly due to planning regulations which are now restricting retailer growth. Simply C assists installation with its reduced footprint which opens up more opportunity for plant location.

Simply C has been designed as a remote refrigeration solution – thus helping reduce energy consumption. The use of remote refrigeration equipment means that retailers are not troubled by integral units producing heat within the store – which in turn requires cooling (air conditioning) to maintain the temperature of ambient products – in particular goods such as chocolate, costing retailers money.

The use of semi hermetic ECA listed compressors means that Simply C delivers energy savings of up to 20% year on year.  This has been achieved through Arctic Circle’s patented compressor technologies including flex valve and ram pipe technologies which help to deliver higher efficiencies and extend the compressors life expectancy.  End users therefore not only benefit through a reduction in electrical running costs, but also through tax benefits which can be received through the use of ECA listed compressors.

Simply C has been designed with a special housing for use in outdoor residential areas, and is intended to offer a low noise solution at a competitive price, with units starting from just 39 dBA.  The use of flex valve suction reeds in the compressor allows the suction reed to open freely, reducing stress levels and substantially lowering the noise signature of the unit. Thus Simply C is less likely to attract a noise complaint compared to other off the shelf condensing units on the market.

Simply C requires 15% less refrigerant due to the free draining condenser and vertical liquid receiver with pressure relief valve, with the receiver and sight glass being located in a cool position. This benefit helps to reduce the ozone depleting refrigerants needed to run the plant, helping to meet the new F Gas directive.
