Green Student of the Year
Arctic Circle are proud to announce that the company’s senior design engineer - Chris Green, won the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) magazines 2007 Student of the Year Awards on Thursday 13th December.
This year’s awards received double the nominations than those collected in 2006, and the judging panel commented on the high standard of entry compared to those from previous years.
Chris originally joined the company as an apprentice where he obtained a National Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and an NVQ Level 3 in Technical Services. He has been a loyal member of the research and design team for 9 years, and now studies at Staffordshire University where he is undertaking an honours degree in mechanical engineering.
Chris application was fruitful, with 2 tutor testimonials, 5 customer appraisals to support his entry, including one from an international buyer; and a glowing reference from Arctic’s engineering manager, who said:
‘Chris has proved a fundamental support to the both the business and myself. His unfailing support in the implementation of new processes and procedures has enable changes to be made with ease. Chris is a true asset to the engineering department and the business as a whole.’
This is Chris’ second award accomplishment this year, with Arctic Circle having won this years ACR News’ ‘Product of the Year Award’, for the refrigeration and air conditioning condensing unit ‘Simply C’ which Chris designed and developed in 2006.
